Google stopped sharing Android software distribution statistics three years ago. But this information is still available in the Android Studio development environment.

As it became known, more than half of all Android devices are running the tenth or eleventh revision of the "green robot". The share of Android 10 is 26.5%, while Android 11 is 24.2%. In third place is the OS of 2018 Android 9.0 Pie - 18.2%.

Android 8 Oreo is the latest version of the operating system, which has over 10% of the market, namely 13.7%. The top 5 also includes Android 7 Nougat with a 6.3% share. In addition, users still own devices based on Android 6Marshmallow, Android 5 Lollipop, Android 4.4 KitKat, and Android 4 Jelly Bean. Their shares were 5.1%, 3.9%, 1.4% and 0.6%, respectively.

This data is based on the number of Android devices that have used the Play Store software over a seven-day period. The information can be useful for software developers when optimizing applications for the most popular versions of the operating system.
