CD Projekt RED is not for sale, says studio head Adam Kichinski
CD Projekt RED is not for sale. Not today, not ever. This is the firm position of the CEO of the Polish studio, Adam Kiczynski, expressed to the local newspaper Rzeczpospolita at the end of last week.
Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the most highly anticipated games in the history of the gaming industry. However, the path of this game was painful not only before its release, but also after. The "sub-optimal" state in which CDPR presented Cyberpunk 2077 caused the righteous anger of many people, both ordinary gamers and studio shareholders, who decided to defend their rights in court, because, according to them, the studio's management knew about the state of the game on the eve of its release. ...
The withdrawal of the game from large stores and the expressed dissatisfaction and criticism led to material losses for investors, and this is likely to have repercussions. In this sense, the question about the future of CDPR in the column Rzeczpospolita not devoid of logic.
“Over the years, we have repeatedly stated that we plan to remain independent and do not intend to become part of a larger company. Moreover, we are not looking for a strategic investor,” Kichinski states clearly. Along with this, he adds, CD Projekt RED made sure to prepare in the event of a hostile takeover of the company.
Almost a year after the release of Cyberpunk 2077 and several patches, the game returned to the PlayStation Store. We can note the work done by the developers to optimize the game, and the future of CDPR looks a little brighter. Cyberpunk is expected to be released early next year 2077 for the current generation of consoles, with the next major update coming before that.
Update 1.5 is expected to arrive alongside or alongside the PS5 and Xbox X | S versions of the game, and given that CDPR has been working on this patch for several months, there is a lot of hope for it.
