Experts at Booz Allen Hamilton have warned that China intends to intercept a huge amount of data, which it can then decrypt using quantum computers and use this information for its own purposes. Of greatest interest are industrial data and, in particular, data on economic and information security.

According to a new report by Booz Allen Hamilton, titled "China's Threat in the Quantum Era," China is doing its best to overtake American quantum computing technologies, which should happen no later than the mid-2020s. The report expresses concern that in just two or three years, the Celestial Empire may well become a leader in the development and deployment of the first practical scenarios using quantum computers.

Chinese hackers can steal encrypted data that remains valuable in the long term - biometric tokens, intelligence secret data, social security numbers, blueprints for new weapons, etc. Although this information is well encrypted, China can use quantum computers to decrypt it easily.

The report goes on to say that China cannot but be interested in using quantum technologies to create a new generation of artificial intelligence. This can be dangerous to the national security of the United States and other countries.
