Qualcomm Snapdragon G3x Gen1 processor for Android gaming consoles

Except the flagship chip for smartphones Snapdragon 8 Gen1, Qualcomm has introduced another SoC for game consoles.

What is known

The processor was named Snapdragon G3x Gen1. It is designed for devices that run the Android operating system. SoC got cores Kryo and Adreno graphics. It is capable of playing games at 144fps. Snapdragon G3x Gen1 devices will be able to display images on 4K displays via the USB-C port. In addition, the chip supports Wi-Fi 6 / 6E, 5G, as well as the proprietary Snapdragon Sound technology, which improves sound quality. 

To demonstrate the capabilities of the Snapdragon G3x Gen1, Qualcomm teamed up with Razer to showcase a prototype gaming console. The device has a 6.65-inch 120Hz OLED display, cooling system, four speakers and a 5MP FHD camera through which you can stream your gameplay. 

When to expect

The new chip has already entered production, but it is not yet known when commercial devices based on it will appear.
