The Chinese company Huawei has announced a new laptop Qingyun L420, based on Linux and a 5nm processor of its own design. Surrounded on all sides by US sanctions, Huawei unveiled the laptop just hours after announcing the world's first 5nm Windows laptop processor, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3.

Qingyun L420 has a compact size, high-resolution display, high-speed memory and a variety of interfaces. This model will replace the Qingyun L410, for which Huawei is asking about $ 1,400 in retail sales in China. The price of the new laptop is unknown.

The difference between the two models lies mainly in the processor. The Qingyun L410, released in late 2020, relies on the Kirin 990, while its successor comes with the Kirin 9006C, which very little is known about. It is a 5nm ARM processor with eight processing cores and a maximum clock speed of 3.13 GHz. Nothing is known about its video subsystem and other components.
