Lenovo Introduces Recycled ThinkPad Z Business Notebooks

Lenovo unveiled the ThinkPad Z series at CES 2022, featuring a chassis made from recycled materials. New products represent premium class solutions for business.

What is known

The line has been expanded with the ThinkPad Z13 and ThinkPad Z16. These are some of the first laptops on the market with AMD Ryzen PRO 6000 series processors. They received up to 32 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, speakers with Dolby Atmos, Full HD IR camera with e-Shutter, fingerprint reader, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2 and a 4G modem.

Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 is equipped with an IPS panel in WUXGA format or OLED in WQXGA format, depending on the modification. The diagonal in both cases is 13.3 ”. Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 has identical displays, but the diagonal is increased to 16 ".

The older version received AMD Ryzen PRO 6000H chips, and the power subsystem can be represented by a 2 TB SSD in the maximum modification. Responsible for the graphics mobile graphics card AMD Radeon RX 6500M. The battery capacity was 70 W * h. The novelty has received three USB-C, Mini-Jack and a card reader.

The more compact model has AMD Ryzen PRO 6000U chips. The maximum SSD capacity is 1TB and the battery capacity is 50Wh. There is no discrete graphics card. The number of USB-C connectors has been reduced to two. The card reader was also removed.

The Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 and ThinkPad Z16 will be available with Windows 11 pre-installed. Pricing and time-to-market will be announced at a later date. The highlight of both models is the case made of recycled aluminum. The 13.3 ”laptop will also be available in recycled vegan leather. The packaging for each novelty is made from sugarcane and bamboo.
