A robot that breakdances: Boston Dynamics has revealed the incredible acrobatic skills of its Atlas robot

Boston Dynamics has published a video that demonstrates the amazing capabilities of the propulsion system of the Atlas humanoid robot.

In the shown footage, Atlas performs incredible acrobatic capabilities: it squats, crawls, somersaults and even performs break-dancing moves.

The developers note that this was possible thanks to a new approach to training the robot, according to which first a human performs these actions in a motion capture suit (used in the film industry and video game development), after which Atlas repeats them.

This impressive result was made possible through a collaboration between Boston Dynamics and the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Institute (RAI Institute).
