Amazon will not host robotics and artificial intelligence conference re:MARS in 2023

Amazon is not planning to hold the re:MARS advanced technology conference this year. Instead, the topics of space, robotics and artificial intelligence will be included in Amazon Web Services' existing line-up of events.

Here's What We Know

The tech giant held re:MARS for the first time in 2019. The conference title stands for "Machine learning, Automation, Robotics, and Space". The event was for startups, scientists, researchers and executives to discuss the latest developments in cutting-edge technology.

Amazon used re:MARS to showcase its futuristic innovations such as delivery drones, warehouse and home robots. Also, former CEO Jeff Bezos discussed the colonisation of space and demonstrated a pair of giant remote-controlled robotic arms.

At last year's conference, Amazon revealed a feature in which Alexa's voice assistant impersonated a deceased relative.

The company said the decision to cancel re:MARS was not due to savings.
