Mustafa Suleyman, co-founder of DeepMind, has proposed that the intelligence of artificial intelligence be judged by its ability to save money.
Here's What We Know
In his forthcoming book "The Coming Wave: Technology, Power, and the Twenty-first Century's Greatest Dilemma" Suleyman argues that AI research should focus on short-term developments rather than mythical general artificial intelligence.
"Sulaiman's Modern Turing Test suggests giving AI $100,000. Developers would then wait for the algorithm to make $1m on the initial investment.
Essentially, the AI will research e-commerce business opportunities, create an idea for a product, and then figure out the process of producing and selling the service.
