The UK government will allocate £21m ($26.75m) to National Health Service (NHS) trusts to introduce promising AI tools in hospitals across the country.

Here's What We Know

The fund is designed to fund AI-based imaging tools and decision support systems to diagnose and treat patients with heart disease, cancer and stroke.

Artificial intelligence is also planned to be used to analyse chest X-rays to help doctors detect early signs of lung cancer.

The government has said it wants to introduce AI tools in all NHS stroke networks by the end of this year.
