Elon Musk blamed artificial intelligence startups for imposing restrictions on reading tweets
Twitter CEO Elon Musk has blamed new restrictions on the social network for companies that use artificial intelligence to collect "huge amounts of data".
Here's What We Know
On 1 July, Musk introduced restrictions on the number of tweets users could read. Verified accounts could view 6,000 messages a day, unverified ones 600, and new ones 300.
Soon the limits were increased to 10,0000, 1,000, and 500 tweets per day respectively.
The restrictions come a day after Twitter suddenly started blocking access for unregistered users. According to Musk, this was done because of "Several hundred organizations (maybe more) were scraping Twitter data extremely aggressively". According to him, this was severely affecting the user experience.
In addition, Musk "accused" users of being Twitter addicts and urged them "to go outside".
