Anthropic has released the second version of its artificial intelligence chatbot Claude and opened access to it to residents of the US and UK.

Here's What We Know

The developers advise to think of Claude as a "friendly, enthusiastic colleague or personal assistant". He can be given instructions in natural language and get help with many tasks.

Claude can create squeezes, write code, translate text, and more. However, according to Anthropic, it is different from other bots. Claude 2 has a more conversational tone and also has a sense of humour.

In addition, the chatbot is guided by a set of principles called "constitution". Based on these, it independently revises its responses rather than relying on human moderators.

Unlike its predecessor, Claude 2 has begun to generate longer responses, and is better at maths, coding and reasoning. For example, according to Anthropic, the chatbot scored 76.5 per cent on a multiple-choice exam, while the previous model scored 73 per cent.

Also, unlike Bard and Bing, Claude 2 is not connected to the internet. It is trained on data until December 2022.
