Voice cloning platform Resemble AI has raised $8m in funding

Resemble, a company that uses generative AI to realistically clone voices, has raised $8 million in a Series A round.

Resemble was founded in 2019 with the goal of creating voice-activated content for video games. Over time, the company began offering AI technology that can "translate" voices into other languages, generate messages, and create agents for conversations.

The platform has more than a million users who have generated 35 years of audio content in the last 12 months.

Resemble says it follows strict ethics rules and requires explicit consent from users to clone voices. The company has also developed a product called Resemble Detect, which enables AI-assisted authentication of audio data.
