Tesla has lowered the price of the beta version of Full Self-Driving to $12,000
Tesla has lowered the cost of the beta version of its Full Self-Driving (FSD) system in North America by 20% to $12,000.
Here's What We Know
A year earlier, the FSD system cost exactly $12,000. However, in September 2022, the company increased the price to $15,000.
The Tesla comes standard with some driver assistance features called Autopilot. For the so-called "Advanced Autopilot", the company charges $6,000. It includes some additional features to help park and pull the car out of a tight spot using a smartphone app.
For a much higher amount, Tesla owners can purchase the FSD system. It includes all the features of "advanced autopilot" as well as the ability to detect and stop at traffic lights and STOP signs.
While CEO Elon Musk has promised that FSD will enable full autonomous driving, the system is still a long way off.
