Elon Musk called AI "harmful to humanity" and called for the technology to be regulated

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has called for the formation of a federal department of artificial intelligence following a summit in the US Congress to discuss regulation of the technology.

According to Musk, the meeting will be a milestone for the future of civilisation. He called the development of AI "potentially harmful to all of humanity."
Musk expressed optimism about the "strong consensus" reached at the summit. In his opinion, specialists in this sphere should act proactively. The billionaire also believes that an AI agency could work on the model of the Federal Aviation Administration or the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
In addition to Musk, the summit was attended by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, as well as Bill Gates and Eric Schmidt.
