Salesforce has announced plans to acquire Airkit.ai, a startup that helps businesses build AI-powered chatbots for customer service.

Here's What We Know

Airkit was originally a customer engagement platform, allowing businesses to aggregate data.

However, last month, the startup was renamed Airkit.ai and launched a GPT-4-based solution to generate specialised AI agents that solve customer questions about orders, returns, products and more.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. When it closes in January 2024, Airkit.ai will be integrated into Salesforce's Service Cloud. Airkit founder Adam Evans will continue to lead the effort.

Airkit was founded in 2017 by Evans and Stephen Ehikian. They sold their previous big data startup to Salesforce in 2014 for $390 million.
