Getty Images has unveiled an artificial intelligence-based image generation tool trained exclusively on licensed stock content.

Here's What We Know

The generator is available for free to Getty's loyal customers. It uses the Edify AI model from Nvidia's Picasso cloud service.

The system is trained on all Getty authors' images. The generated images come under a standard licence without copyright and are not added back to the library.

The user can set aspect ratios, filters and cues for generation.

Getty has also introduced a reward model for authors for using their work to train the AI. Profits will be distributed annually to contributors based on contributions.

According to the company's assurance, users need not worry about copyright infringement as only licensed content is used for training.
