Spotify CEO Daniel Ek has said he has no plans to completely ban content created by artificial intelligence on the platform.
Here's What We Know
Ek stated that technology can be used to create music. However, AI should not impersonate performers without their consent.
He said the use of artificial intelligence in music will be discussed for "many, many more years". Eck sees three "branches" of AI use:
- Tools to improve music;
- imitation of existing artists;
- original music from AI influenced by performers.
In his view, the third use case is the most controversial.
As of today, artificial intelligence is not banned on the platform in any form. However, the company does not allow its content to be used to train AI models that can then create music.
