Microsoft is testing the DALL-E-based Paint Cocreator tool for generating images in the Paint application in Windows 11.

Here's What We Know

Paint Cocreator allows you to create images based on a text description and a selected art style. The tool will generate three variations that can be edited, such as added to a new layer.

Microsoft says it has taken steps to prevent the creation of offensive or inappropriate images, but did not provide details.

Paint Cocreator will launch for all Windows 11 users in the coming weeks. It is currently being tested in the Windows Insider programme with a limit of 50 credits. It is possible that in the future there will be a paid subscription to the tool.

The feature is currently available in English in the US, UK, France, Australia, Canada, Italy and Germany.
