Warner Music Group CEO Robert Kyncl believes artificial intelligence is a positive development for the music industry.

Here's What We Know

According to Kyncl, the impact of artificial intelligence on all areas of business can no longer be ignored.

"You have to embrace the technology, because it’s not like you can put technology in a bottle…like the genie is not going back in" he said.

Kyncl sees it as a pressing task to protect musicians from AI spoofing their work. As an example, he cited YouTube's Content ID system, which finds protected content and prevents it from being monetised.

Warner Music Group intends to create a similar solution to protect its artists, who will be able to opt out at will.
