Google has given web publishers the option to prevent their content from being used to train artificial intelligence models. At the same time, the sites will remain available in the search engine.
Here's What We Know
Google's new Google-Extended tool allows you to allow your site to be indexed, but disallow the use of data to train AI like Bard and Vertex AI. This is implemented through the robots.txt file, which controls access by search robots.
Google notes that it will continue to explore approaches to content selection and control for web publishers as AI technology evolves.
Earlier, the company confirmed that it is training the Bard chatbot on open data from the web.
