Elon Musk-owned startup xAI will release its first artificial intelligence model for a "select group" of users. The release will take place on November 4.

Here's What We Know

According to Musk, the first xAI model outperforms the competition in some aspects. Other details have not yet been revealed by the businessman.

xAI was founded in July 2023. Experts from OpenAI, Google DeepMind, Tesla, and the University of Toronto have joined the company.

Musk has previously taken a contradictory stance on AI. On the one hand, he has warned of the threats from generative models to humanity. On the other, he invested in the industry and planned to use the technology in Tesla, SpaceX and X.

Elon Musk is one of the co-founders of OpenAI. According to him, he joined the startup to stand up to corporations like Google.

In 2018, Musk left the company to focus on Tesla. He later said he did not like the commercial focus of OpenAI under the leadership of Sam Altman.

Also Musk he accused GPT's language models of being too politically correct.
