Google Photos has new AI-powered features for organising photos in the gallery
The Google Photos service has begun rolling out artificial intelligence-based features that will better organise and categorise photos in the gallery.
Here's What We Know
One of the features, Photo Stacks, will combine similar photos into stacks and select the best photo from them. This will simplify gallery browsing by removing duplicates and similar shots from the overall stream.
Another AI-assisted feature will recognise screenshots, documents and other useful photos. These will be organised into separate albums and reminders can be set up, such as a screenshot of an event ticket with a QR code that will be needed for entry.
As Google notes, such improvements will help make the gallery neater and more user-friendly. Artificial intelligence-based processing and retouching tools have previously appeared in the app.
Both features have already started rolling out to Google Photos on Android and iOS.
