Google has added a new feature to its Google Meet video conferencing service - raised hand gesture recognition. Now you can physically raise your hand during a call to let other participants know that you want to say something.

Here's What We Know

To trigger the feature, the user's camera must be on and the hand must be clearly visible in the frame. After a short delay, the system will detect the gesture and notify the rest of the conference.

When gesticulation is active, the option is automatically deactivated, eliminating false positives. You can disable this feature in the Google Meet settings.

Raised hand gesture recognition will gradually become available in Google Meet Workspace over the next two to three weeks. This applies to most plans, including Business Standard and Plus, Education Plus, and individual subscribers.
