OpenAI is unlikely to offer board seats to Microsoft and other investors

OpenAI, the developer of chatbot ChatGPT, will most likely not include its major investors, including Microsoft, on its new board of directors.

OpenAI ousted CEO Sam Altman a week ago without explanation, causing concern among partners. He was soon reinstated after a decision to form a revamped board of directors.

According to sources, it will comprise nine people, including new chairman Bret Taylor. However, there seems to be no room for Microsoft, Khosla Ventures and Thrive Capital.

Experts believe that Microsoft is unlikely to passively accept such a decision, given the $10 billion invested in OpenAI. Earlier, the head of the corporation Satya Nadella said about the need to change the leadership of the startup regardless of where Altman ends up.

Representatives of the companies have not yet commented on the situation. There has also been no official confirmation of information about the composition of OpenAI's board of directors.
