Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk is seeking $1bn in funding for his artificial intelligence company xAI.

Here's What We Know

According to a filing with the SEC, Musk has already raised about $135 million from four unnamed investors, with the deal taking place on 29 November. He has about $865 million left to raise to reach his goal.

xAI is currently developing a chatbot called Grok, a competitor to ChatGPT and other AI assistants. It is planned that it will answer sharp and provocative questions that are ignored by most of such services.

Another unique feature of the bot should be integration with the X social network, which is also owned by Musk. Grok will be able to respond in real time to queries about current events in the world.

However, to do this, the chatbot must learn to distinguish reliable news from disinformation and fakes on X. Time will tell how successfully it will be able to do this.
