OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has announced the return of the ChatGPT Plus paid subscription option.
Here's What We Know
In November, the company suspended registration of new ChatGPT Plus users due to a surge in demand for AI services. The company's servers couldn't handle the influx of people wanting to try out the new chatbot features presented at OpenAI Day.
Altman thanked users for their patience while the startup "searched for more GPU".
Flashback
The ChatGPT Plus subscription gives users priority access to the chatbot during times of high traffic on the service, as well as enjoy the company's latest models, particularly GPT-4.
At the OpenAI Day conference in November 2023, developers unveiled a number of new features. Among them is ChatGPTs, which gives the ability to customise a chatbot for a specific scenario.
Also, ChatGPT Plus subscribers can upload and analyse text documents, images, as well as communicate with the service using voice.
