Microsoft founder Bill Gates has published a prediction regarding the impact of artificial intelligence in the coming years. In his opinion, the technology will radically change workplaces, healthcare and education.

Here's What We Know

Gates believes that high-income countries, which includes the US, will actively start implementing AI within a year and a half to two years.

In the workplace, AI technologies will mainly act as "co-pilots" to help employees complete tasks. Some companies have already developed internal AI tools for staff training, Gates noted.

In medicine, scientists are trying to use AI to fight antibiotic resistance, treat risky pregnancies and other tasks. Most of these developments are still in the early stages, Gates said.

Finally, in education, the billionaire sees huge potential for AI-based adaptive learning platforms. They will be able to engage students and adapt to their needs and cultural context.
