Samsung is preparing to release a smart fridge with artificial intelligence that will be able to recognise food and generate personalised recipes.
Here's What We Know
The new 2024 Bespoke Flex Refrigerator 4-door model will feature AI Family Hub+. With an inbuilt camera with computer vision technology, the fridge will be able to identify up to 33 types of food.
The Samsung Food app, which can be accessed on the Family Hub's 32-inch touchscreen, will select recipes based on the user's dietary preferences from their Samsung Health profile. Various diets are supported, including gluten-free and vegan.
In addition, thanks to the Picture to Recipe feature, the fridge will be able to analyse food photos and create recipes on its own. And food expiry date alerts will be displayed on the screen one day before expiry.
Samsung is positioning the new model as the centrepiece of a smart kitchen, integrated with the company's other home appliances. The price and sales launch date have not yet been disclosed. The refrigerator will be unveiled at CES in 2024.
