Perplexity AI, a company founded in August 2022, has announced it has raised $70 million in a funding round. It was led by venture capital firm IVP and other investors, including founders of well-known tech companies.

According to sources, the round valued the startup at $520 million, an impressive sum for a company that has been around for a year and a half, experts said.
Perplexity's platform is based on its own and third-party AI models. It allows users to ask questions in natural language and receive short answers with links to sources. The interface resembles a chatbot.
According to founder Aravind Srinivas, Perplexity aims to "provide instant answers to any question". The company plans to invest in expanding its team and developing new functionality.
