ChatGPT could soon completely replace digital assistants like Siri and Google Assistant thanks to its ability to listen and talk to the user.
Here's What We Know
The updated ChatGPT app from December 21 contains lines of code indicating that the chatbot is turning into an assistant. Apparently, it is not completely ready, but it already gives an idea of what the future feature will look like.
When manually activated, the app can be launched from any screen like Google Assistant or Siri. At the same time, there will apparently be no trigger word to call the assistant.
When interacting with the ChatGPT digital assistant, an animation plays on the screen, which can be seen when using the GPT Voice feature.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has previously predicted that in the future, users will simply tell computers what they need and they will perform the necessary tasks on their own. The new ChatGPT feature seems to be a step towards realising this vision.
OpenAI has yet to officially announce the new voice assistant feature in ChatGPT.
