Microsoft has started testing a feature that automatically launches the Copilot artificial intelligence service when a Windows 11 PC is switched on. This option is being tested on PCs with a screen diagonal of 27 inches or more as part of the Windows Insider programme.

Here's What We Know

According to the developers' plan, Copilot will open immediately after the start of the operating system without user participation. This will simplify access to the capabilities of the chatbot, based on the GPT model from OpenAI.

It's not known whether the feature will make it to the final version of the OS - perhaps the testing won't go beyond the Windows Insider programme. Nevertheless, the company is actively promoting its AI assistant, including through special Copilot keys on laptop keyboards.

The Copilot autorun in Windows 11 has already drawn some criticism from testers and experts. In their opinion, it is an overly intrusive move, similar to the forced installation of Edge in the system. However, it will be possible to disable the service in the settings.
