Amazon has launched a test of a new artificial intelligence feature in its mobile apps that allows users to ask questions to a chatbot about the characteristics and features of products.
Here's What We Know
The chatbot is not only able to give practical advice about products, but also make jokes, compose poems and fairy tales on the topics asked by users. In addition, the assistant is able to give advice in the style of former Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos.
According to Amazon representatives, at this stage the chatbot is focused specifically on questions related to the characteristics and features of products from the company's catalogue. The tool is expected to improve the quality of customer counselling and user experience when selecting products on the online retailer's website.
In addition to this innovation, Amazon has recently been actively introducing artificial intelligence technologies into its services - in particular, to generate brief product descriptions, detect fake reviews and select clothing sizes for customers of the online shop.
