Microsoft has introduced a new Generative erase feature for its Photos app on Windows 10 and 11 operating systems. It allows you to remove unwanted elements from photos with the help of artificial intelligence.

Here's What We Know

According to the developers, Generative erase creates more realistic results compared to the current Spot Fix feature. It can remove entire objects like people or objects in the background from images.

To use Generative erase, you need to select erase mode in the Photos app and use a brush of different sizes to select the items you want to remove. The tool will then automatically replace them with the background.

For now, the new feature is only available to users of Windows 10 and 11 on Arm64 who are participating in the Windows Insider testing programme. It will be rolled out to a wider audience in the future.
