Google has unveiled several innovations for the Android mobile operating system, including the integration of the Gemini chatbot into the Messages messaging app and the ability to generate verbal summaries of text messages using artificial intelligence technology in Android Auto.

Here's What We Know

Messages users will now be able to chat with Gemini directly in the app. The chatbot can compose messages, schedule events, or just have a conversation.

For now, the feature is available in beta mode and only for English-speaking users.

Android Auto now has the ability to automatically create summaries for long text messages using AI. This will minimise driver distraction from the road when receiving a large number of notifications.

The feature will also provide quick responses and actions based on messages, such as giving arrival times.

Google also announced several new accessibility features for Android, including generated image captions in the Lookout app, enhanced screen reading capabilities in Google Lens for Maps, and integration of Spotify controls into Android.
