A new update to the ChatGPT app on Android provides users with more convenience and accessibility with the introduction of a new widget. The beta version of the app features a 4 by 2 widget that includes five new shortcuts. These shortcuts allow you to open a text, camera, image, voice request, or start a call directly from the home screen.

Here's What We Know

According to the developers, this feature is not yet available in the Google Play Store and is in beta. However, users can try it by downloading it separately. Some features of the widget, such as the camera and image search queries, are available only to users of the ChatGPT Plus paid plan.

Earlier, the integration of the voice assistant on the phone's home screen was announced, allowing access to it directly from the quick settings panel.

ChatGPT was available for Android devices long before the release of Google's Gemini, but it is unclear when it will appear on the iOS platform. The update with the new widget is expected to become available to a wide range of users after the official release of the beta version.
