Adobe has introduced a new tool for music creativity - Project Music GenAI Control
This platform, which was presented at the Hot Pod Summit in Brooklyn, allows you to generate audio from text descriptions or a reference melody and customise it with a variety of parameters.
Here's What We Know
Using this tool, users can control the tempo, intensity, repeating patterns, and structure of the generated music. They can also remix existing tracks or create infinite loops, add new layers and effects.
The tool was developed in collaboration with researchers from the University of California and Carnegie Mellon. It has been mentioned that such tools can raise ethical and legal issues, as music created by artificial intelligence can infringe on copyrights. However, Adobe is actively working to resolve these issues, including the development of watermarking technology to identify generated music.
The head of Adobe's audio and video AI research department emphasised that their goal is to create a tool that will allow users to express their musical ideas while ensuring compliance with legal copyright requirements.
