Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, has become a billionaire according to Forbes magazine. He took 2692nd place in the rating.

Here's What We Know

According to Forbes, Altman's fortune stems mainly from his investments in startups like Reddit, which recently had an IPO, and payment company Stripe, which is valued at $65 billion. The billionaire has also invested in other ventures, including nuclear energy company Helion and longevity startup Retro Biosciences.

The valuation of Altman's fortune includes properties in California and Hawaii. It was based on public information and investigations by Forbes.

Altman himself, who became the face of global hype around artificial intelligence after the release of ChatGPT in 2022, does not own a stake in OpenAI. The startup is currently valued at around $80bn.

Earlier last week, singer Taylor Swift was also included in Forbes' billionaires list with an estimated fortune of $1.1bn.
