Android 16 is guaranteed: Samsung promises 4 years of OS updates for 2021 and 2022 flagships
The other day, an insider spoke about expanding support for Samsung flagship devices. At today's presentation, the South Korean manufacturer confirmed this information.
What to expect?
As a reminder, last year Samsung made a commitment to provide 4 years of software support for its phones and tablets, that is, 3 major OS updates and 4 years of security fixes. This applied to flagship models and representatives of the A and M series.
Now the company has announced that flagship smartphones, tablets and even smart watch will receive an additional year to their life cycle. They can count on 4 major Android operating system updates and security patches within 5 years. That is, the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy Tab S8 lines presented today should switch to Android 16 and receive the latest patch in 2027.
