Amazon unveiled Fire HD 8 line of tablets with improved processors and Alexa support starting at $100

Amazon has announced three Fire HD 8 series tablets. The 2022 lineup offers users higher performance and support for the Alexa voice assistant.

Here's What We Know

The series includes Fire HD 8, Fire HD 8 Plus and Fire HD 8 Kids Edition models. All three feature a 1024 x 600-dot, 8-inch display. Amazon does not specify which processor is used in the tablets, but it is known that it has eight cores at up to 2 GHz.

The standard version and Kids Edition are equipped with 2GB of RAM, while the Plus variant gets 1GB more. The storage capacity is 32GB or 64GB depending on the package. The tablets also got the Tap for Alexa feature, which allows you to communicate with the virtual assistant through the app instead of using voice commands.

All three new products are on sale now on Amazon. The regular Fire HD 8 starts at $99.99. The Fire HD 8 Plus model costs from $119.99. You can buy the Kids Edition starting at $149.99.
