Google introduced the budget Chromecast TV set-top box with Google TV HD for only $30
Google unveiled the new Chromecast TV set-top box: it replaces the 2018 Chromecast, which came in at $35 and was much less functional.
Here's What We Know
By the way, although the name of this device says "HD," it actually delivers 1080p. That's less than the more expensive 4K model, but the set-top box still supports HDR output.
The new Chromecast with Google TV HD gets an Amlogic S805X2 chipset, 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of built-in memory. Unlike the 4K model, it supports AV1. It comes with a with voice controled remote.
You can use the Chromecast with popular streaming services, as well as for streaming games from Stadia (but you'll need a controller, as the included remote can't handle it).
The Chromecast set-top box with Google TV HD costs just $30.
