Qualcomm and Razer unveiled the Edge portable console for cloud gaming for $399

Qualcomm and Razer have finally unveiled a portable gaming console for cloud gaming. The model is called the Razer Edge.

Here's What We Know

The novelty is based on the Android operating system and is aimed at using cloud services. For example, GeForce Now and Xbox Cloud Gaming by NVIDIA and Microsoft, respectively. The gaming console is available in two variants: Wi-Fi and WI-Fi + 5G.

Razer Edge has a 6.8" Full HD+ OLED display. The refresh rate is 144 Hz. The characteristics are typical for a mid-range smartphone. The new portable console, unlike its competitors, is not equipped with controls on the sides of the display. For this purpose, there is a complete controller with sticks, buttons, cursors and crossbar.

The model runs on a mobile chip Snapdragon G3x Gen1 with a frequency of up to 3 GHz. There is no more information about the processor. The volume of LPDDR5 RAM is 8 GB, and the storage capacity is 128 GB. The battery has a capacity of 5000 mAh. The Razer Edge also got a front-facing camera, Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6E.

Price & When We Can Expect It

The Razer Edge is scheduled to launch in January 2023. The cost of the handheld console was $399. The price of the 5G-enabled modification will be announced later. But it will work exclusively on Verizon cellular operator networks.
