South Korean manufacturer Samsung announced an image sensor ISOCELL HPX with a resolution of 200 MP for smartphones.

Here's What We Know

It is possible that the novelty is a copy of the ISOCELL HP3, the world's first 200 MP image sensor, as the technical parameters are completely the same. The 1/1.4" optical format sensor has pixels measuring 0.56 microns.

According to the manufacturer, the main feature of the new sensor is its compactness and support for combining 4 or 16 neighboring pixels. This improves photo quality in low light conditions. At the output, the user will get photos of 50 MP and 12.5 MP, respectively. ISOCELL HPX supports shooting 4K ULRA HD and Full HD with HDR, as well as 8K ULTRA HD video at 30 FPS.

The new sensor is focused on the Chinese market, so do not expect it in the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. Perhaps we will see the ISOCELL HPX in one of the modifications of the Redmi Note 12.
