MediaTek, as promised, held an event where it showed its new flagship mobile processor.

Here's What We Know

The novelty is called MediaTek Dimensity 9200. The chip is built on a second-generation TSMC 4-nanometer process. Thanks to this, the power consumption has been reduced by 25%.

The SoC has eight cores in a 1 + 3 + 4 configuration. The first productive core is Cortex-X3 with a frequency of 3.05 GHz. Then there are three Cortex A715 cores at 2.85 GHz and four Cortex A510 cores at 1.8 GHz. The Dimensity 9200 runs with a Mali G715 MC11 GPU. It supports ray tracing. In addition, the novelty has a built-in 5G modem, Wi-Fi 7 support, LPDDR5x memory, UFS 4.0, as well as the proprietary technology to improve graphics in games Hyper Engine 6.0.

Smartphones based on the Dimensity 9200 will support screens with resolutions up to WQHD+ and refresh rates up to 144Hz. The MiraVision 890 chip will be responsible for the panels.

When We Can Expect It

The first smartphone with the new processor should be presented already this year. It will be one of the vivo X90 models.
