MediaTek unveiled the Dimensity 8200 processor with Cortex-A78, Mali-G610, Wi-Fi 6E support, 320MP cameras and 180 Hz for mid-range smartphones
MediaTek has expanded its range of mobile processors for mid-range smartphones. The new chip is called Dimensity 8200.
Here's What We Know
The single-crystal system is made according to the norms of 4 nm technology. It has eight cores, four of which - ARM Cortex-A78 with a maximum frequency of 3.1 GHz. The graphics subsystem is represented by the chip ARM Mali-G6710 with Vulkan SDK.
The SoC has Imaqiq 785 image processor with support for 320 MP cameras. Now the maximum resolution is 200 MP. Perhaps a new record for the number of pixels will be set soon. But hopefully not.
Smartphones on the Dimensity 8200 will be able to have support for Wi-Fi 6E 2x2 and Bluetooth 5.3. Of course, we can't do without 5G network support either. Also, the chip can work with LPDDR5 memory and UFS 3.1. As for displays, declared support for FHD + with a frame rate of 180 Hz and QHD + at 180 Hz.
The first smartphone with Dimensity 8200 will be the iQOO Neo 7 SE. Its presentation will be held today, December 8. Also Xiaomi has officially confirmed that the new chip will form the basis of the Redmi K60E.
