AMD introduced Ryzen 7000X3D top-of-the-line processors with 3D V-Cache memory and affordable Ryzen 7000 versions starting from $229
AMD has unveiled two lines of Ryzen desktop processors. Buyers will be able to buy Ryzen 7000 chips next week, while supplies of Ryzen 7000X3D will start at the end of the first quarter.
Here's What We Know
Let's start with the more expensive Ryzen 7000X3D. The series is represented by three chips with a TDP of 120W. Ryzen 9 7950X3D has 16 cores, 32 threads, 144 MB of 3D V-Cache memory and frequencies from 4.2 to 5.7 GHz.
AMD head Lisa Su focused on the most affordable processor in the series at the presentation. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D outperforms the previous generation model by an average of 15% in Full HD games. The maximum gap is 25%. The processor itself has 8 cores, 16 threads, 104 MB of memory and a peak frequency of 5 GHz. The base frequency is not specified.
Between the Ryzen 9 7950X3D and Ryzen 7 7800X3D there is the Ryzen 9 7900X3D. It has 12 cores and also supports multi-threading technology. The cache size is 140 MB. The CPU runs at a frequency of 4.4-5.6 GHz.
Now let's talk about simpler chips. AMD has expanded the Ryzen 7000 family with three models with 65W TDP. The most expensive processor is the Ryzen 9 7900. The 12-core, 24-core CPU is rated at 3.7-5.4 GHz and has a Wraith Prism cooler.
The Ryzen 7 7700, which has 8 cores and 16 threads, also has a Wraith Prism cooler. The frequency was 3.8-5.3 GHz. Finally, the 6-core 12-core Ryzen 5 7600 has 3.8 to 5.1 GHz and a Wraith Stealth cooler.
Price & When We Can Expect It
Ryzen 7000 processors will go on sale as early as January 10. The R9, R7 and R5 models are priced at $429, $329 and $229 respectively. More interesting Ryzen 7000X3D novelties will appear on the market in March, but prices are not specified yet.
