HP unveiled the Dragonfly compact laptops with Windows and Chrome OS

HP has updated its Dragonfly line of compact laptops. The new models debuted at Consumer Electronics Show CES 2023 with Chrome OS and Windows operating systems.

HP says the new products are aimed at office workers and freelancers who often have to work on the road. The company unveiled two laptops, each with a 14-inch touchscreen display.

The Dragonfly Pro on Windows uses a panel with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, covered with Gorilla Glass 5. Inside there is a Ryzen 7 7736U chip on Zen 3 architecture with 32 GB of LPDDR5-6400 RAM in the maximum modification. SSD holds up to 1 TB of data.

The laptop got a touchpad with tactile feedback, a pair of USB 4 (Type-C) connectors and one USB 3.2 (Type-C). The company added three keys that can be used to open the HP Control Center, camera settings or contact customer service. There's also a fourth, programmable, button.

The Dragonfly Pro Chromebook runs an Intel Core i5-1235U mobile processor with 12GB of memory and 256GB of storage. The display has a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and a maximum brightness of 1200 nits. The novelty has four Thunderbolt 4 connectors at once and can offer users an 8MP webcam and even backlighting.

The Dragonfly Pro Chromebook weighs 1.5 kg. The Windows version was 100 grams heavier. Both laptops have four omnidirectional speakers and will be available in black or white. Sales will begin in the spring and cost is not yet specified.
