TCL announces RayNeo X2 augmented reality glasses with Micro LED screens for everyday wear

At CES 2023, TCL presented several smartphones, about which we will not write due to the lack of interesting features. A curious novelty of the manufacturer is the augmented reality glasses, which are called RayNeo X2.

Here's What We Know

The device externally looks like ordinary glasses. Moreover, TCL claims that the RayNeo X2 is designed for everyday wear because it has a thin and light body. But the headset looks quite large and the word "thin", which describes the body of the glasses, could have been dropped in the press release. Or the person in the image has a small head.

The AR glasses are equipped with Micro-LED displays. The contrast ratio is 100,000:1 and the brightness is 1,000 nits. The user will be able to see text on the screen even in sunlight. The hardware platform is built around the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 processor.

The same chip is used in the HTC Vive XR Elite mixed reality headset, which was also unveiled at CES 2023. It will hit the market next month for $1099, and pre-orders are already available.

Returning to the RayNeo X2, it should be noted that the glasses are equipped with a camera that allows you to shoot video and take photos. On the display you can display messages and pop-up call windows. Another feature of the device is turning personal conversations into real-time subtitles.

The cost of RayNeo X2 is not specified, but it should be noted that ordinary consumers will not be able to buy the new AR-glasses. The device is aimed at developers and will be available to them until the end of the first quarter of 2023.
