GlüxKind Ella - a smart $3,800 stroller that can lull a baby
Startup GlüxKind presented a smart stroller at CES 2023 that may scare off many parents with its cost. The new product is called Ella.
Here's What We Know
For starters, a little history. The founders of the Canadian startup are Anna Hunger and Kevin Huang. They didn't like finding a stroller for their daughter. So the couple decided to create their own baby stroller that met all the requirements.
To begin with, they attached an electric skateboard to a regular stroller. Thus began the creation of the product, which was presented in Las Vegas at the annual Consumer Electronics Show and was named Ella.
The smart stroller has three modes of operation. The first allows you to lull the baby. The device starts rocking from side to side. The second mode implies the work on the principle of an electric bicycle. You need to apply very little effort to move the stroller. This will be useful when moving upwards.
In the third mode of operation, Ella will move automatically at a distance of a few centimeters from the owner. But there is a nuance. This only works when there is no child in the stroller. The device can increase power when going uphill and slow down when going downhill. But as soon as you put the baby in the stroller, it will recognize this and stop moving. A weight sensor is provided for this purpose.
Price & When We Can Expect It
The GlüxKind Ella will be available in the spring. The startup is now raising funds on Kickstarter. The cost at this stage is $3800. After the market release, the price will be even higher.
