Korean manufacturer Samsung, without waiting for the presentation on February 1, announced a new camera sensor.

Here's What We Know

The module is named ISOCELL HP2. It has 200 MP resolution, the size of 1/1.3 inches and 0.6 microns pixels. The novelty boasts an expanded dynamic range, improved color reproduction, as well as the new Tetra2pixel pixel aggregation technology. In low-light conditions, the HP2 can combine 4 to 1 for 1.2 µm pixels with 50 MP resolution or 16 to 1 for 2.4 µm pixels with 12.5 MP image resolution.

The ISOCELL HP2 can do continuous shooting at 15 frames per second at a native resolution of 200 MP. This is twice as much as the HP3, and 50% better than the ISOCELL HM3's 100 MP sensor. The novelty also has the Dual Vertical Transfer Gate (D-VTG) technology, which helps to avoid flare in the frame. The module supports 4K HDR-shooting at 60 frames per second.

When We Can Expect It

Samsung has already launched mass production of the ISOCELL HP2. The module will be installed in the new flagship Galaxy S23 Ultra.
